Daddy's MEGA Monster High surprise!!!

I write this post with a
huge smile on my face.
Tonight my love crossed off a few dolls
from our Monster High MUST HAVE LIST.

Let me start from the beginning though.
Those of you that collect
Monster High know how wanted
all the boy dolls are.
Not only are they wanted but
sometimes really hard to find.
I have been calling stores daily
asking if any of the new sets were in
with no luck on any of them.

The other day we had the car to
to go doll hunting.
Even though I had called the Justice
in the mall earlier that morning we still
went in to take a peek.
While I was there I gave them my
number and told them to call me
when the new swim dolls came in.
Holt Hyde to be exact!

This morning I called two other
Justices in the area and still no Holt.
I noticed I had a missed call around 3
o'clock today and I didn't recognize the number.
Listened to the message it was the
girl from Justice letting me know the dolls were in.
I called her back right away.
She let me know that she put a Frankie
on hold for me but that there was no Holt.
Once I got off the phone with her I
called the other Justice and asked if they had
a Holt at the store.
Yes!!!!
She said "yes", I told her to hold one for me.
Texted Luke and told him the good news.
I was so excited and  the kiddies
were counting the hours down till daddy got home.
One thing about my hubby is he is sneaky.
I had called him  around 7 and
he said he was on his way.
Little did I know he made a few
extra stops on the way home.

He walked in with the Justice bag and
both kids ran over to him all excited.
First surprise!!!
He was able to get two Holts!
Finally Holt is in The Dollhouse, yay!

He went back out to the car and came in
with another bag.
Second surprise!!!!
Inside was:
Home Ick : Abbey and Heath set
Music Festival Draculaura and Claude set
Dance 5 pack including Gil Weber

Did he just score every new boy doll
that has recently come out?
I swear he has the best luck when it comes
to boy dolls.
I have been calling around for
all of these for weeks.
Been out hunting a few times too and
found nothing.
He goes out once and comes home
with them all.
Apparently the stores by us still don't have any,
it was the area by the mall that had them all.
This is what us doll hunters call a GRAND SLAM!!!!

He played it off so cool on the phone so
I had no idea what was going on.
I was so excited about the one Holt and
he came home with all of this.
Excitement is in the air tonight!
I no longer have to call around
and stress over when these dolls are getting in.
I can just relax and just enjoy the new
additions to the Monster High collection!

I also must put in here,
that my hubby is very proud of himself.
Not only that he scored so big,
but it was a total surprise for us!

Miss Blue was extra excited about the dance 5 pack.
Daddy even bought her one of her
 own for her collection too.

This is one happy little girl!
All because her daddy rocks and
loves her so very much.

Starting 3rd grade Epilepsy FREE!

When Miss Blue was about 4 years
old I noticed something was happening.
Every once in awhile she would  have starry spells.
(Meaning: talking than stopping in mid sentence
and giving a empty stare for a few seconds.)
It started off almost not noticeable.
Since I am her mom and spend every
hour of every day with her I noticed.
It went from happening once in awhile to everyday.
Then from once a day to multiple times a day.
The spells also got longer.
I said something to my husband about it
and he said it looked like she was just thinking.
I knew something was wrong though.
The last straw was when the one side of her face
started dropping and she had a slight head rock going on.
After she came out of one of the starry spells,
I asked her where did she go?
She had no recollection just said everything was black.
It kept getting worse and worse,
we decided it was time to take her in.

Before I get into the whole story.
I am writing this for all the parents out there that may
be experiencing these symptoms in their children.
It is serious and they need to see a neurologist right away!
You can help it before it gets any worse.

I found a neurologist in our area
and we took her in right away.
The first thing they had her do
was blow a pinwheel.
It caused one of the seizures to occur.
They watched her zone out and slowly rock.
They did EEG's and MRI's.
She was diagnosed with
absence seizures also known as childhood epilepsy.

Which meant her brain had a intense surge of
energy that was overwhelming her brain.
It is a condition that the
doctor said that this was very common
in children ages  4 - 8.
Also that it was more common in girls than boys.
My heart sunk though and all the
grief and the guilt from the accident came back.
I asked if this could have been caused by
head trauma, Miss Blue did have 3 skull
fractures due to the accident.
The doctor said no!
This childhood epilepsy was hereditary.
It was something she was born with not
anything that had happen to her caused it.

The first thing the doctor wanted to do
was put her on medication.
Daddy didn't want to have any part of that.
Our first plan of action was putting
Miss Blue on a gluten free diet and keeping
a daily food and seizure log.
It did decrease the absence seizures.
Which was good but she was still having them.
After talking it over a lot we decided
to put her on medicine.
It was a really hard thing to do,
but the doctor said she would only need to be on
it for 2 years.
Also that is was good we caught
it while she was young.
Her chances a being rid of the seizures
all together with the medicine was high.

I searched all over the internet.
Reading all of the horror stories about the
side effects of the epilepsy medicines.
Hair falling out, depression, suicidal 5 year olds.
I was scared.
But it would be worse for her Epilepsie to get worse.
The doctor started her off with a low
dose of Ethosuximide aka Zarotin.

Then bumped it up a bit after a few doses.
Not one seizure since!
It was mixed emotions.
I knew we were doing it to help
her but what if it ended up causing more problems.
Honestly I found no good info online.
My husband had to tell me to stop
reading and looking up info on it.
Her only side effect was some
mornings she would have a belly ache.
I would walk her into her class and let her
teacher know she wasn't feeling 100%.
I don't know if she was just lucky
and reacted really well to the medicine but she did.
No depression , hair falling out,
and most important no seizures.
After hitting her two year mark and
being seizure free for two years.
We slowly weaned her off the medicine.
Lowering the dose each month, until
she was barely taking any.
She is really happy about this
because she hated taking the medicine.

It has been a full month no medicine
and still seizure free.
I am excited for her she is ready to
rock third grade and does not have to worry
about missing school for doctors appointments and
starry spells!

I write this cause I know when I found out she
had  Epilepsy I was depressed and scared.
I didn't make a big deal about it in front of her.
But behind closed doors I was crying my eyes out.
For the first few months I was severely depressed.
My message to you is it does get better.
This is something that you can not control
only help to get better.
I can not promise that this medicine will
work as good for your child as it did for Miss Blue.
But we are 100% happy we put her on it.
Since it has only been a month off the medicine,
I do watch her closely.
But so far so good.
And we can only hope it stays this way!
She is full of energy and ready to take on anything that
comes her way, she is my superhero!

Another tip is make the going to the doctors fun.
I would let her blast her favorite song and sing
as loud as she could on the drive.
Snacks too make sure you have some goodies
for them to snack on.
Miss Blue was never scared!
The trick is to stay positive no matter what.

Inside the Dollhouse....

As I sit here in my dining room
surrounded by creepy little faces,
it makes me smile.
It was not always this way...
Before my love entered my life my collection
was small and all fit on my dresser.
My first Living Dead Doll came from
a dear friend of mine Skelatrona.
Miss Blue and I went to her
house for a fun weekend.
The night we arrived we
played the Living Dead Dolls game.
The next day we had
 poisoned tea party photoshoot.
It was so much fun!
We got so many great pictures and
had a wonderful time.
As I was leaving Skelly gave me my
first Living Dead Doll as a thank you.
It was Jubilee, I was beyond thrilled.
And just like that a doll collector was created.
I had a rule though that I was not
allowed to buy the dolls they
had to be a gift.
I received a few Apple dolls and
Living Dead Dolls from friends.
If you know me you know I love dolls!
Wait let me rephrase that I love CREPPY dolls.
When I was little I had a few baby dolls.
My obsession didn't start till I was older.
When I was living at my dads,
my love started with the doll spoiling.
Package after package of dolls.
I had no idea what he had in store for me.
When I first moved in with him I had
a good amount of dolls.
Due to all the doll packages he sent me.
Over the years we lucked out
and bought a few collections from friends.
Even got more of Skellys dolls.
Which made me happy cause she was the
main reason I started collecting.

We have been married for 4 going on 5 years.
And every holiday, birthday or as a special Thank You,
I get a doll or dolls.
We have just hit 103 Living Dead Dolls.
When we first moved into this house it was decided
that the dining room was going to be
the dead doll dining room.

We officially have moved out of the dining
room and we put up two shelves in the foyer.
I am really lucky that not only does my love accept
my doll obsession, but he joins in.
Doll hunting is something we do as a family.
Our collection is pretty impressing.
We have hard to find dolls, rare, and oldies but goodies.
Now with Monster High in the mix.
The kids are 100% into it too.
We truly are The Dollhouse now!

So I bet you are wondering
why I call myself Teh Doll.
Just to clarify it is not a typo, just a nickname.
Although the person who gave me the nickname
was just passing thru my life the nickname stuck.
I always dressed up as a dead doll
 for Halloween, and collect dolls.
So it was perfect!
Instead of being The Doll and sounding like
I take myself way too seriously.
Teh Doll is a bit quirky and just
emphasizes Doll.
I always loved it too when someone called me doll.
Instead of hun or dear, doll was the
one that made me light up.
Before Teh Doll
it was Darkgothdoll.
Which is terribly too long and doesn't
have a nice ring to it.
I regretted that screen name right after I made it.
I was happy to get rid of DGD and
go with something shorter.
Then I did something silly that
is the reason I will have
Teh Doll nickname for life.
I got it tattooed on my wrist.
My bestie Evil Miss Blue tattooed it.
She drew the doll for me.
Even gave her a blue bunny to represent Miss Blue.

This tattoo will always bring back good memories.
It means so much to me that
she was the one who tattooed it.

I kinda love it!
It makes me smile.
She used my favorite font as well.
Having a cyber alias rocks!

Since this doll likes to dabble with
photo editing it seems a lot is doll themed.
Here are a few of my fav doll pics.
I took and/ or photoshop.
Dolllllllls on the BRAIN!

I made my besties!

One day I will make this set for real!
It is over 120 layers on photoshop...

My whole computer is filled with pics.
I could be here all day posting pics.

My husband is amazing.
I love him dearly.
The dolls are just the icing on the cake.
When you are in the dead doll dining room and
look around you can feel the love.
I know I do!
My love didn't have to buy me any of  these dolls.
But he did out of the kindness in his heart.
Just to make his wife smile.
I am such a lucky doll!

The collection is ever growing so keep
a eye out for our new additions....
And more DOLL pics!!!!

That folks is why we are called
Life in The Dollhouse!

The newest resurrected addition to our doll collection!

It is no secret that we love dolls in The Dollhouse.
Lately it has been full blown Monster High mania.
My first love in doll though is Living Dead Dolls.
That is the reason we are called The Dollhouse.
I joined a Monster High group on Facebook.
I really enjoy it and it had me looking
for a Living Dead Dolls group.
I am lucky to have found one
that is full of fun collectors.
It is a great place to be where all
we talk about is dolls!
My kinda place for sure!

Being that Comic Con was going
on all these amazing doll pictures were going around.
of the Resurrection 7 set.

And the variants oh dear I wanted them all.

Out of our whole collection of Living Dead Dolls
we only have one variant resurrection doll.
It is the one Miss Blue won
in the Halloween contest and it's
the highlight of our collection.
I was really excited to see a post
about Miss Heide putting up a set of her
variant resurrection 7 on sale.
My heart kinda skipped a beat.
I messaged her without even thinking about it.
It was Lust and Revenant which would
both be an amazing addition to the doll collection.
Not only was this a set of variant resurrection set
but an exclusive Comic Con release!
Of course I had to get the ok from hubby.
All it took was a quick text and he gave me the ok.

This was a smooth easy transaction with Miss Heide.
She shipped that day and they arrived today.
We are so excited!
I can not thank you enough Heide
for this great new addition to the collection.

I know you are all dying to see the dolls.
First do know Luke will not let me open these EVER!
But I am ok with that, the ones we buy that are
sealed stay that way and the ones open I can play with.
It was cute because Luke was just as excited as I was.
The silver coffins got us both smiling.

The original Lust was a
naughty devil girl.

Resurrection Lust

Variant Resurrection Lust

I am so excited that we now have the variant Lust.
Of course I prefer the black nun suit
with those little red horns popping out the top.
Check out those eyes!

As for the Revenant  I absolutely love
the variant one.
Original Revenant

Resurrected Revenant
 Variant Resurrection Revenant

I LOVE DOLLS that GLOW!!!!!

We are beyond lucky to get our hands
on these dolls since they are limited edition and sold out!
Once again Heide you rock!
The Dollhouses collection got a lot creepier today.

They have a special spot in the
dead doll dining room.
We thought it was fitting to put Lust with
our other 7 deadly sins dolls.
We made that  the resurrected corner.

This now puts our Living Dead Doll
collection at 103 and ever growing!
My love is going to put up some
 more doll shelves this week!

Miss Blue has been out of town.
She will be back the end of the week.
We have a special Teh Dollhouse Girls
for you next week so make sure to watch!
Thanks for stopping by The Dollhouse.
